This infographic, created by InfoProductReview, shows the progress made by nations under the Kyoto Protocol vs. the ‘base year’ of 1990.

While there have been more successes than failures amongst nations with targets, there has been a sharp increase in emissions elsewhere, particularly in developing countries.

The Kyoto Protocol has been an important first step in global climate diplomacy. What we now need is more meaningful cooperation on a global scale (particularly from the US) and further investment in renewable energy.
